Under the scheme, the government will give you an equity loan to help increase your initial deposit and reduce the amount you need to borrow from your mortgage provider.

When do I repay?

If you sell your home, you simply repay the government 20% of the resale value. If you don’t sell your home, you repay after 25 years, or when your mortgage term is up (whichever comes first).

You can also make payments sooner, if you wish.
